High-Production Compliance Courses
Compliance training reimagined through story, reenactment, and production value to improve retention in required learning.
Overview
I approach compliance training as a storytelling problem: if learners are clicking through required content, the format is failing before the material even begins. By combining narrative structure, reenactments, and high-production video, I create courses that hold attention and make high-stakes topics feel real.
Challenge
LMS data showed that many associates were moving through compliance courses with minimal engagement and low retention. The goal was to create training people would actually watch, understand, and remember—without compromising the clarity and rigor required for compliance content.
Approach
I produced, co-wrote, shot, and edited a series of narrative-driven video segments built around real-world fraud scenarios. The final course was built in Articulate Rise with custom Storyline interactions, combining cinematic reenactments with interactive learning moments. The focus was on making abstract policies concrete—showing not just what the rules are, but how and why they matter in practice.
Outcome
The fraud course featured on this page earned a Brandon Hall Gold Medal and achieved an associate NPS score of 60, demonstrating that high-production storytelling can significantly improve engagement in required training. The project serves as a model for how compliance learning can be both rigorous and genuinely compelling.
